The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and LinkingCommunities.com have partnered together to give citizens a secure, easy-to-use, Community Alert system that combines the latest in technology with community involvement.

How does it work?  The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office can quickly enter content into a web system, click “send” and within minutes, this information can be disseminated to thousands of people.  Citizens can sign-up to receive alerts and search for active alerts from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Department by way of email and txt/sms message or their cell phone. Some of the alert types might include:

1. Missing Children
2. Missing Persons
3. Crimes
4. Severe Weather
5. Homeland Security
6. Area Scam Warnings
7. Wanted People
8. And more
