What makes this product unique?
There is a private area attached to the public website that is member-based and password protected. It is like having your own intranet/virtual office online. You access this private area simply by logging in through your website. Once members sign-up by creating a profile, username, and password, they can share a variety of web-based tools. This includes features like a resource library (great for document and photo sharing), calendar (post meetings and events), classifieds (sell or look for stuff - not only within your community but also within other LinkingCommunities.com participating sites throughout the country), store contact information (personal and community related). Uniting Communities & Protecting Our Children
It is our company mission to unite communities and protect our children; therefore, we created a way to link the community sites to the outside world with other agencies that share our mission. How have we done this? In addition to building this website system for communities, we have built an additional tool for local law enforcement agencies called the Neighborhood Watch & Alert Manager.
Law enforcement agencies get their own web system that allows them to create missing persons alerts, crime and weather alerts, post wanted people or upcoming events and more. They can also upload documents like safety tips, training videos, etc. When they post the information, it is displayed within your community website and it will also be sent to the individual members of your community via text message and email. Members elect whether or not they would like to be notified of this information within their profile. This tool is extremely valuable and can save a life if a child is missing and time is a critical factor in finding out details needed by local law enforcement. For example, if you are pumping gas in your car and get a text message about a car they are searching for, you may see it drive by at that very moment.
In addition to information you can receive from local law enforcement agencies, we are working with child safety partners. Familywatchdog is one of those valuable partners. By working together, they have allowed you to search for registered sex offenders through your community website within the member’s area called Child Safety. It is our goal to partner with as many agencies that share our goal of protecting children and educating communities as we can. They will provide safety tips, training videos, and other important resources.
The next version will also allow schools, city government agencies and fire departments to disseminate information into the community sites.
